Beware of Discouragement

Moses reported this to the Israelites, but they did not listen to him because of their discouragement and harsh labor.

Exodus‬ ‭6:9‬ NIV

In Exodus 6, we see that after years of crying out to God for freedom from their captors, the Israelites receive a magnificent Word from the Lord. In verses 6-8, the Lord speaks through Moses and promises to bring the Israelites out, free them, take them as His own people, and bring them to the land He promised their ancestor Abraham.

Therefore, say to the Israelites: ‘I am the Lord, and I will bring you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians. I will free you from being slaves to them, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with mighty acts of judgment.

I will take you as my own people, and I will be your God. Then you will know that I am the Lord your God, who brought you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians.

AND I will bring you to the land I swore with uplifted hand to give to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob.I will give it to you as a possession. Exodus‬ ‭6:6-8‬ NIV

All AMAZING promises right!? Exactly, what they had been waiting on all these years! But when the promises came, the Israelites were not prepared to receive (to take possession of) them because they had been discouraged for so long.

The enemy uses discouragement to clog our ears.

Don’t allow discouragement or unfavorable circumstances to cause you to miss when God speaks directly to your situation. Keep your eyes open and your ears tuned so that you are prepared when God sends the answer you have been praying for.‭

Big Hugs,

Ayanna
