He’s Working It Out

Today, I am here to remind you that God is working “it” out behind the scenes. Friends, there are things going on that you and I may never perceive, but it’s ok because God knows and He is handling it. My prayer is that today’s post will encourage you that God truly does have your back.

Now let’s get started. We’re taking it all the way back to the children of Israel’s time in the wilderness. The children of Israel were experiencing great success triumphing over their enemies. They were obeying God and He was giving them victory everywhere they went.

The Lord said to Moses, “Do not be afraid of him, for I have delivered him into your hands, along with his whole army and his land. Do to him what you did to Sihon king of the Amorites, who reigned in Heshbon.” So they struck him down, together with his sons and his whole army, leaving them no survivors. And they took possession of his land.

Numbers 21:34-35 NIV

This was great because the Israelites were FINALLY making their way to the promised land. They defeated the Amorites. Then they defeated Bashan. Now they were on their way to Moab.

How many of you know that your success is threatening to those around you?

Please understand what I am saying. I am not talking about people who are often referred to as “haters”. I am challenging you to see past the people through to the spirits operating within them. Man is not our issue. Demonic spirits are.

For our struggle is NOT against FLESH and blood [contending only with physical opponents], BUT against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this [present] darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) places.

Ephesians 6:12 AMP

Balak, king of the Moab, heard of Israel’s victories and was afraid. Without the Israelite’s knowledge, he sought a diviner (sorcerer) to place a curse on them. Balak hoped that black magic would weaken the children of Israel.

Now Balak son of Zippor SAW all that Israel had done to the Amorites, and Moab was terrified BECAUSE there were SO MANY people. Indeed, Moab was filled with dread BECAUSE of the Israelites.
The Moabites said to the elders of Midian, “This horde is going to lick up everything around us, as an ox licks up the grass of the field.”
So Balak son of Zippor, who was king of Moab at that time, sent messengers to summon Balaam son of Beor…

Balak said…

Now come and put a curse on these people, because they are too powerful for me.

Perhaps then I will be able to defeat them and drive them out of the land. For I know that whoever you bless is blessed, and whoever you curse is cursed.”

Numbers 22:2-6 NIV

Nothing Slips Past God

God is a protective Father. He keeps careful watch over all of His children. Much like our natural parents, He works on things we are completely unaware of. He sees dangers when we cannot and He knew Israel was in serious trouble. Trouble they had no foresight for, so He stepped in. Our all-powerful God had a sorcerer seek His guidance.

Balaam said to God, “Balak son of Zippor, king of Moab, sent me this message: ‘A people that has come out of Egypt covers the face of the land. Now come and put a curse on them for me. Perhaps then I will be able to fight them and drive them away.’ ”

But God said to Balaam, “Do not go with them. You must not put a curse on those people, because they are blessed.””

Numbers 22:10-12 NIV

Though Israel was unaware of what God was doing, He was STILL working on their behalf. Behind the scenes, He changed the heart of a diviner to bless His people rather than curse them. The scripture tells us that the diviner operated as a prophet. Friends, if God could change this situation for the children of Israel, He can certainly do the same for you.

Now when Balaam saw that it pleased the Lord to bless Israel, he did not resort to divination as at other times, but turned his face toward the wilderness. When Balaam looked out and saw Israel encamped tribe by tribe, the Spirit of God came on him  and he spoke his message:

“The prophecy of Balaam son of Beor,
the prophecy of one whose eye sees clearly,
the prophecy of one who hears the words of God
,
who sees a vision from the Almighty,
[a]
who falls prostrate, and whose eyes are opened

Numbers 24:1-4 NIV

The Distinction between God and Man

In life, we often find ourselves depending on our own strength or the strength of others to accomplish what needs to be done. However, there is one major issue with this approach. Man is fallible. We are in need of someone who sees all and knows all. We are in need of someone who never fails. We are in need of someone we can trust with our entire lives, even the parts we cannot see. God is that person. We can trust Him.

Let the verse below be a constant reminder to your heart.

God is not a man, so he does not lie.
He is not human, so he does not change his mind.
Has he ever spoken and failed to act?
Has he ever promised and not carried it through?

Numbers 23:19 NLT

Now rest, He’s working it out.

Big Hugs,

Ayanna
