Don’t Panic, Just Pray: Navigating Transitions Well

Hi friends, I wrote this a few months ago, but never got the release to share it. I believe now is the time. My message today is simple, don’t worry. Anxiety and fear do not have to be your portion in this season. Instead, press into God and apply these principles. He is with us.

Lessons from Philippians 4:6-9 NLT

1. Don’t panic, pray (tell God what you need and thank Him for what He’s done)

Don’t worry about ANYTHING; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for ALL he has done.

v. 6

God’s peace is a byproduct of prayer.

Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

v. 7

2. AFTER you pray, fix (set, firmly attach) your mind on GOOD THINGS

And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.

v. 8

Don’t allow your mind to spiral out of control. Instead, fix your mind on good things. This may mean you have to step away from social media or the news and sit before the Lord and worship.

3. Continually put what you’ve learned into practice

Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you.”

v. 9

Don’t forget what you’ve learned keep putting them into practice in your everyday life. God is for you.

Biggest hugs,

Ayanna
